Jigme Tsering, studying B.Tech Aerospace Engineering at the Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science in Chennai, secured 97.9 percent in the first year of his engineering studies.

This outstanding achievement makes him the first winner of the Department of Education’s New Incentivized Scholarship One lakh Rupees, which was awarded to him by the Sikyong Lobsang Sangay at a media event in Dharamsala couple of days ago.

Jigme aims to build the trainer aircraft, which is his top priority and after completing his B.Tech, he hopes to study rocket science.

Finishing class VIII from Sambhota Tibetan School in Gangtok, he completed his class X from CST  Darjeeling  and class XII from CST Mussoorie.
