In 2014, Seattle-based Khenrab Palden made a short film, Tainted Freedom.
He submitted the film to more than 30 film festivals but all rejected it.
This rejection inspired him to start Himalayan International Film Festival in Seattle as a platform to showcase the films made by Tibetan and Himalayan filmmakers.
He also works as a Community Relations officer for Tasveer South Asian Film Festival, where he managed to include Tibet among the countries represented.
Speaking to VOA TV, he shares how he ended up taking this journey in film making and experience of working in film festivals.
