Tibetan Digital Security expert in WIRED magazine’s 32 innovators list
Dharamsala-based Digital Security Expert Lobsang Gyatso Sither got selected in the WIRED UK list of 32 innovators published on December 3.
High-profile global professionals, including Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, selected these diverse innovators from around the world for “taking real steps to make the world a better place, in 2021 and beyond.”
On selecting Lobsang in the list, WIRED magazine wrote, “Lobsang Sither has worked quietly, compassionately, and tirelessly to improve digital security among Tibetans for well over a decade.”
Trained in Computer Science from Madras and Software Engineering from London, Lobsang is the Digital Security Program Director at the Tibet Action Institute, which creates awareness in the Tibetan community about digital security and Chinese Cyber-attacks.
Aiming to be active on a bigger Tibetan platform with his digital expertise, Lobsang is running as one of the new and younger candidates for the 2021 Tibetan Parliamentary Elections. “..From a Tibetan Parliament perspective, we need a strategy on how we can combat China in this age of Technology. And I think I bring a unique perspective on that,” Lobsang said during the Panel discussion organized by Phayul.com
