The multiplex was inaugurated on 26th August with the screening of Akshay Kumar starrer RUSTOM. Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay and family was among those invited for the opening.

The PVR Cinema multiplex is created in the Maximus Mall, the construction of which has been going on for several years much to the excitement of people in Dharamsala, which doesn’t have any Mall and cinema hall despite being one of the most popular tourist destinations in India.
In the absence of a cinema hall in Dharamsala, some Tibetan fans of Bollywood used to make 80 km long journey to the nearest City Pathankot to watch the latest Bollywood releases during the weekends. Not anymore!
