Tibetan woman to contest Canadian Provincial Election

The New Democrats Party (NDP) nominated  Bhutila Karpoche, as its candidate to represent Parkdale-High Park in the upcoming election for Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

If elected, Bhutila will become the first Tibetan to hold public office in North America.

Immigrated to Canada in 2002 with her family,  she studied in University of British Columbia and University of Toronto. She had worked in the office of Cheri DiNovo, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
