Popular Tibetan-Nepali Vlogger Lhakyila makes acting debut with Pooja Bhatt
Lhakyila makes her acting debut with Indian Web series, Big Girls Don’t Cry, which started streaming on Amazon Prime from March 14.
“Big Girls Don’t Cry is an exciting journey of self-discovery, friendship, and growth for the girls at an all-girls boarding school in Ooty. In this new season, we witness the girls’ coming of age and how they bravely tackle the complexities of growing up, including issues of identity, body image, and their place in society” says the description of the show’s trailer in YouTube.
The show created by Nitya Mehra also stars Pooja Bhatt, the popular actress of the 90’s Bollywood. Lhakyila is one of the several girls playing the role of the bunch of schoolgirls in this new web series.
Originally from Nepal, Lhakyila is a pioneer vlogger from Tibetan and Nepal community. She rose to fame with her short, creative and funny videos on social media including YouTube, which she joined in 2010, according to her YouTube profile information.
Speaking English, Nepali and Tibetan in her Videos, and experimenting with different types and longer forms of YouTube videos she quickly became hugely popular. As of now, YouTube channel has 148K subscribers.
