Tibetan photojournalist wins National Award for Journalism
Delhi-based Tashi Topgyal working at The Indian Express is among the winners of this year’s national award for excellence in journalism, announced Press Council of India on 4 November.
His 12 day coverage of the 2014 Kashmir floods has earned him the National Award.
The boy from Darjeeling will receive the award from the President Pranab Mukerjee on the National Press day on Nov. 16.
Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay congratulated him for achieving “…such high honors and recognition from the Indian government as well as in the mainstream national media…”
