Tibetan elected to Swiss Local Parliament (Video)
Swiss-born Jigme Shitsetsang, 45, has been elected a member of Cantonal Council from Wil, St. Gallen, Zurich. St. Gallen is one of the 20 Cantons of the Swiss Confederation with each Canton having its own local parliament, reports Phayul.com
The news covered on the front pages of Swiss newspapers was celebrated by Tibetans as they shared the news on social media with congratulations and best wishes to Jigme, who is a former banker and army officer as well.
