Fitness Mantra of Sikyong Lobsang Sangay
“Sleeping is my best exercise as it gives good rest. Honestly, I don’t exercise regularly,” said Sikyong Lobsang Sangay during the interview with Tibet TV recently.
He added, “I fall asleep easily as soon as I hit the bed. When you work hard and get all the work done during the day, you fall asleep easily.”
If time permits in the morning, he does a bit of Ramdev’s breathing exercise, spend time on treadmill and elliptical machine at home.
Work load, frequent travels and hectic schedules have taken toll on his weight. He was 88 kg when he came to Dharamsala and 98 kg a year ago. As gaining weight is inconvenient, he decided to do something.
“I have been skipping dinner since January which helped me lose 8 Kg and I am determined to shed 2 more Kg,” he said.
He also makes it a point to walk as much as he can, even if it’s walking the stairs or walking in the office while talking on mobile phone.
Sikyong’s other tips for good health are: getting annual health checkup, washing hands frequently, warm clothes, and drinking lots of water.
The interview by Tibet TV was conducted in connection with Sikyong’s completion of eight years as elected political leader of the Tibetans.
